What to Wear to Catch Your Crush’s Attention

After much intensive research and an equally aiding counterbalance of careful deliberation, it's safe to say that I've come into terms with a conclusion of what it is that captivates boys, in accordance with dressing up, to helplessly swooned ladies. I've segregated every single one of my male interviewees to a classified group based on individual stereotypes and listed their answers respectively.

What to Wear to Make the Best First Impression in School

IMG_1857Much to our advantage (but equally and unfortunately so a possible disadvantage), first impressions are as permanent as they are crucial; which, needless to say, naturally emulates a need to create a facade. Superficial as it may seem, good first impressions potentially result to a high probability of turning first glances into temporal, and eventually lifelong, attainments. Illustratively, when attending a networking event given the purpose of collaborating with startup entrepreneurs, which getup would more likely entice said executives to approach you and get acquainted -- a gray flannel suit fit for corporate (e.g. matching blazer and a pair of slacks over a white button down) or an intricately-manufactured, sequined-studded jumpsuit under a perfectly-tailored, gray blazer? Presumably, the former suggests a rather dull approach as if saying, "I'm normal, I'm just like everybody else -- I can do whatever anyone else could do", whereas the latter suggests a much bolder statement imposing, "I'm different, I'm not like everybody else -- I can make your company stand out in the industry", so explains an obvious measure to declaring the jumpsuit/blazer combo as the winner by a landslide; A GRAND SLAM! Think of it this way, the way you dress is your medium to success. It takes a strong ideal to get you what you want, but it takes a defying, and by all means dauntless, sense of fashion to get you noticed -- a duo dynamic to making all the difference with regards to making a first-rate first impression. And as can be done in the workplace, so be it at school; here are 5 outfit inspirations, reflective of personal thoughts and apprehensions, especially catered to students, myself included, on the first day of school:
1. "I'm a little shy -- start a conversation! Talk to me about my denim jacket!"

What to Wear to Get the Career You’ve Always Wanted

Remember that one outrageous scene in Cinderella where the fairy godmother transforms Cinderella's pink, tattered rag of a dress (as per her evil stepsisters' viewpoint) into a glorious blue wonder, to the extent of the crowd supposing her of royalty? How about Elsa's phenomenal number when she sang her angst out and changed her entire look from an uptight queen, and not to mention intimidating, to a rebellious, and not to mention fabulous, ice princess? Or that time when Genie lavished "street rat" Aladdin with a grand parade led by fancy elephants and belly dancers, turning his likeness to that of an actual prince? So where exactly am I going here -- well, case-in-point, (but hey, you gotta give me credits for an interesting leeway) all three Disney characters aforementioned, in order to be who they want to be, dressed the role before they got the role! [pullquote width="300" float="RIGHT"] "THEY DRESSED THE ROLE BEFORE THEY GOT THE ROLE!"[/pullquote]

Whatever your end goal may be -- be it something as extraordinary as being the queen of England, as fun as rocking the stage with hiphop dancing, as technical as learning how to fix a car, as humane as treating cancer patients, or as entrepreneurial as setting up a tire company -- once you dress the part, you'll end up thinking the part, feeling the part, and later on, you'll BE the part! But before anything else, let's delve a little deeper, as are self-shaming, feeling incompetent, and conformity all unaddressed, and damaging, norms as of today, here's a quick motivational speech to somehow, and hopefully, change your thinking and lift you up:

The negative suppositions we feed ourselves are all lies -- we try to pattern ourselves to what we think the world only sees as fitting for a certain role (e.g. toned muscles, fair-skin), and once we experience setback from imitation, we feed ourselves criticisms, which all the while is actually a form of deception, only to grow more insecure; this is how our thinking functions. But the one thing (out of a million others) that contradicts with, God didn't create you for defeat, much less created you to belittle yourself, but rather burningly desires victory, joy, and love (of self and others) for you! Love yourself and your ambitions will love you! 🙂

Now, with that being said, after you rewire and disassociate your reasoning from claims that prove false and take a step towards self-affirmation, here's what YOU can do next to get started on achieving what you've always wanted to be -- DRESS IT TIL' YOU MAKE IT! 1. If you've always wanted to rap and beatbox till' the sun goes up, DRESS LIKE IT! #RapBeatboxRepeat IMG_1431 FullSizeRender(33) IMG_1436 IMG_1433

SPOT THE DAD!

2. If you want to run an empire like the lady boss that you are, DRESS LIKE IT! FullSizeRender(36) FullSizeRender(37) FullSizeRender(39) 1389381_493218327507463_1842514095_n 3. If you want to be a pro at belly dancing like a native, DRESS LIKE IT! IMG_1460 IMG_1459 img_7899.jpg   4. If you want to be an owner of a vineyard and ride horses to and fro, DRESS LIKE IT! img_0565-2.jpgsnapseed-138.jpg snapseed-107.jpg  img_8321.jpg 5. If you want to stand out and promote change (be it in school or at work), DRESS LIKE IT! DRESS DIFFERENT! And remember: you are beautiful, unique, and different -- SO DRESS LIKE IT! HAPPY HUNTING!   personal designs - white halter, yellow culottes

What to Wear to Make People Want to Start a Conversation with You

To my lovely introverted gal pals, (but technically speaking, I myself am an introvert -- 33% that is, while the other 67% resulting to extroversion according to an online test I took; so coherently, based on analysis, we all belong to both social groups regardless of and ironically, with regards to, percentage measurement, right? HAHA! With that being said, let me rephrase that -- to all my lovely gal pals, HAHA!), anyway, case-in-point, have you ever wanted to approach and make conversation with someone but just couldn't bring yourself to do as feelings of intimidation and timidness overpower you to act on the opposite? Well, I know I have, and emotions of regret and non-fulfillment seemingly follow after, as though adherent and in conjunction with; but what if I told you we could turn the tables around and they would be the ones to actually initiate reaching out? Sounds good, huh? So without further ado, here are three style accessories/apparel you can incorporate in everyday outfits that double as statement pieces, as well as conversation-starters:
1. Kooky Bags  If you spot one at the mall, make sure you get it; they're everywhere -- i spotted an ice cream truck body bag once, and even a bee pouch! It's extremely adorable! And I guarantee you a day of watchful glances and gleeful smiles, but more importantly, lessened worries for making acquaintances and friends!   snapseed-86.jpeg 2. Unusual Pieces Get the sequined top you've been eyeing! Buy the pink fur coat! Sport the pair of graffiti jeans you just bought but couldn't muster the guts to wear! All these fashion pieces are totally different than usual, but so are you -- like what I always say, "you are different and unlike any other, DRESS LIKE IT!" 🙂 _JSY2338 _JSY0983 3. Bold Outerwear If you see someone wear a pink suede, unicorn bomber wouldn't you come up and pay them a compliment? EXACTLY. YOU WOULD -- the same applies for when YOU wear quirky (and not to mention, FABULOUS) outerwear! (the answer no isn't valid, FYI. HAHAHA!) img_4593.jpeg img_2656-1.jpg snapseed-76.jpeg
Proven and tested because of the friends my family and I made along the way: I'll be sure to talk to you when I see you prancing about, carrying your watermelon hand bag! 🙂 HAHAHA! Again, you are one in a million, there's no reason to go by the norms! Dress different! HAPPY HUNTING! #DesignsByKyna - dusty green overalls (UNUSUAL PIECES), white flowy top (KOOKY BAGS)
